Kingfisher... finally

After years of wishing and hoping and chasing I finally had a cooperative subject close enough to capture. This was done at English Boom Preserve on Camano Island. (Canon 30D, Canon 400 f5.6L, Tripod)

Nice bird, but it seems like some of the sharpness was lost. Especially in the head area.

I agree about the sharpness, but you sure got a nice pose from it.

Thanks for looking! I agree with the comments about sharpness. This is a fairly significant crop and and the bird was chattering, so there might have been some motion that could soften the image.
